Delayed failure of Fe-Ni-Mo-Ti maraging steels in corrosive medium

1992
Two maraging steels were tested for impact strength, short-term strength σ s , and delayed failure. Fractographic studies were also performed and the mean rate of subcritical crack growth as a function of aging temperature was estimated. The experimental results suggested that steels subjected to aging at 400°C exhibit the greatest tendency for delayed failure in water
