Teichoic acids from streptomyces griseus

1966
During the Schmidt-Thannhauser fractionation procedure at nucleic acid determinations of Streptomyces griseus, a phosphorous-containing compound(s) was found which could not be taken as nucleic acid or polyphosphate. The hydrolisate of the isolated substance proved to have almost the same composition as teichoic acid from Staphylococcus aureus Duncan.
