Making and Evaluation of Breast Cancer Phantom for Microwave Mammography
2017
In this paper, we discuss the development of a breast tissue-equivalent phantom to be used in testing microwave mammography in the 1 GHz–5 GHz frequency range. In this study, we utilized agar tissue-equivalent phantoms, and demonstrated the effectiveness of coating these agar constructs with a nail top coat and a UV resin in preventing adjacent phantoms from mixing. We also report the utility of synthetic aperture radar processing in detecting the approximate locations of the mammary glands.
