STUDIES ON SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ELECTRICAL-CONDUCTIVITY THE COMPLEXES OF 3D TRANSITION-METAL WITH 2-OXO-PROPIONIC ACID (4-PYRIDINECARBONYL) HYDRAZONE

Six transition metal complexes of 2-oxo-propionic said (4-pyridinecarbonyl) hydrazone (H2PPFH) and the single crystal of a manganese complex have been prepared in this thesis. The structure and properties of these complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR and UV spectra, differential thermal analyses(DTA) and thermogravimetry (TG). A general formula for these complexes is M(PPFH) . nH2O [M(II) = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, n = 0 approximately 2]. The structure of the manganese complex was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis, the results show that the crystal of the complex is monoclinic, of space group P2(1)/n, with a = 1.1252, b = 0.9828, c = 1.3708 nm, beta = 66.03-degrees, R = 0.028. Besides, the electrical conductivities of six complexes were measured and their semiconductor-like behavior was discussed.
