Frequency of suicide relative to the profession

In the period of twelve years, from 1991 to 2002, in the region of Nisava and Toplice, there were even 859 cases of suicide and attempted suicide. The suicides are most frequent amongst the pensioners, then the working population, agricultural workers and housewives. Amongst the working population, the suicide was most frequent amongst electricians and workers in electrical industry, then among managers, and the workers in production in textile and metal industry. Employed persons perform suicide most often by hanging, firing a weapon or jump from the height. Suicide inclined are particularly employed men aging from 31 to 50 years, who live alone or in de facto partnership.
