PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PROBIOTIK DAN ASAM ORGANIK DARI SILASE RUMPUT KUMPAI TEMBAGA (Hymenachne acutigluma) TERHADAP KARKAS DAN IRISAN KARKAS ITIK PEGAGAN

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of probiotic and organic acid from (Hymenachne acutigluma) silage to carcass and commercial carcass slice of Pegagan duck. This was held on March until May 2019 in experimental housing of animal science study program and laboratory of animal feed and nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The sample used was 72 Pegagan ducks at six month old. This research used an experimental method with 6 treatments and 4 replications: P0 (control), P1 (basal ration + organic acid), P2 (basal ration + probiotic), P3 (basal ration+ tetracycline), P4 (basal ration + organic acid + probiotic), P5 (basal ration + organic acid + probiotic + tetracycline) and the resulting data were analyzed descriptively. The observed variables were live weight, carcass percentage and commercial carcass slice in Pegagan ducks. The results showed that combination effect of probiotic and organic acid from (Hymenachne acutigluma) silage that can produce high live weight, carcass percentage and commercial carcass slice, if compared to other treatments. In conclusion, probiotic and organic acid treatments is able to increase the percentage of carcass and carcass slices (chest, thighs, wings and back) Pegagan duck.
