Externe Evidenz zur internen Qualitätssicherung?: Der praktische Nutzen von Likelihood Ratio und Number Needed to Treat

Objectives: To show that focussing on relevant parts of evidence-based medicine serves to evaluate efficiently the existing literature (external evidence) and therefore leads to internal quality management. Methods: Evidence-based medicine in internal quality management and its modules diagnosis and therapy as well as the relevant statistical calculations are described by examples. Results: The statistical tests relevant for journal evaluation were calculated and explained. Conclusion: Knowledge on validity of statistical tests is definitely needed to evaluate external evidence and therefore their intelligent practice is one step in internal quality management.
