Essential Oil Composition of Artemisia biennisz Willd. and Pulicaria undulata (L.) C.A. Mey., Two Compositae Herbs Growing Wild in Iran

The oils obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of Artemisia biennis and Pulicaria undulate were analyzed by means of GC and GC/MS. The major components of the oil of A. biennis were camphor (24.6%), artemisia ketone (11.4%) and α-pinene (10.2%). α-Pinene (45.7%) and 1,8-cineole (27.1%) were found to be the main constituents of the oil of P. undulata.
