T wave alternans in children with ventricular arrhythmias

Objective To explore the characteristics of T wave alternans(TWA)in children with ventricular arrhythmias.Methods The incidence of sustained TWA,onset heart rate threshold and heart rate threshold/predicted maximum heart rate were compared in normal control group,positive treadmill test group and negative treadmill test group with ventricular arrhythmias.Results Compared with normal group,the incidence of sustained TWA was significantly increased,and onset heart rate threshold and heart rate threshold/predicted maximum heart rate were significantly decreased in both of treadmill test positive group and negative group with ventricular arrhythmias(P 0.05).The incidence of sustained TWA was higher and onset heart rate threshold and heart rate threshold/ predicted maximum were significantly lower in treadmill test positive group than in negative group(P 0.05).Conclusions Sustained TWA is closely related to ventricular arrhythmias in children.
