The method comprises: according to a current position of a user, a target road section, and an average vehicle sped of the user, driving arrival time by arriving at the target road section is calculated; traffic data relates to the target road section are obtained from a navigation server; according to the traffic data, a congestion situation of the target road section is estimated at the arrival time; and if the target road section is estimated to be in a traffic congestion state at the arrival time, a user is warned to plan a new driving route. Therefore, the user can obtain accurate road condition information; and the timeliness and practicability of navigation can be improved.
