Telephenone D, A New Benzophenone C-glycoside from Polygala telephioides

Abstract Aim To study the chemical constituents of the whole plants of Polygala telephioides Willd. Method The chemical constituents were isolated and purified using column chromatography and the structure were determined through the analysis of spectroscopic data. Results Four compounds were obtained and their structures were identified as telephenone A ( 1 ), telephenone B ( 2 ), telephenone D ( 3 ) and garcimangosone ( 4 ). Conclusion Compound 3 is a new benzophenone C -glucoside compounds. Compounds 1 , 2 and 4 were obtained from this plant for the first time.
