The number of switching the hydraulic devices in multi-circular hydro-transmission of a shunting locomotive directly infl uences on the operational factors. The quality of switching processes depends on the selection of time parameters of fi lling and emptying. The authors present the results of the experimental investigations of a hydro-transformer and a hydraulic clutch as well as the dependence of changing the relative power in the period of hydro-devices change-over including the structural solutions of automatic hydro-transmission control. Implementation of the proposed structural changes of the automatic control system of hydraulic transmission will improve the effi ciency of the diesel locomotive hydraulic transmission and the reliability of the automatic control system of hydro-transmission.
