P-165: Achieving Nearly 39% External Quantum Efficiency in Simple Planar Organic Light-Emitting Devices

A simple planar OLED having nearly 39% EQE is reported. By adopting a low-index transparent electrode and a high-index underlayer, more internally generated light is coupled into the substrate and is also more convergent for direct out-coupling to air.
