A concept of agroecological assessment of soils of cultivated lands

2002
This paper is devoted to the principles, structure, and specifics of agroecological assessment of soils of cultivated lands. Agroecological assessment of soils is a part of the agroecological evaluation of lands, which is used for development of landscape-adaptive farming systems. According to the State Standard, the term soil should be distinguished from the term land. Agroecological assessment of soils of cultivated lands represents a comprehensive system of agronomic (with due respect to crop requirements) characterization of the soil cover that should take into account the principles of zoning, grouping, and modeling soil fertility.
