Advances in clinical application of acupuncture during perioperative period of laparoscopic surgery

Background Previous studies have showed that acupuncture has various clinical effects, including reducing the dosage of anesthetic, analgesia, and relieving nausea and vomiting, etc. For nowadays, acupuncture has been widely used in perioperative period, including laparoscopic surgery. Objective To review the clinical application of acupuncture during perioperation in laparoscopic surgery. Content When applied to the perioperation of laparoscopic surgery, acupuncture can produce many positive effects, such as decreasing the dosage of anesthetics, maintaining the hemodynamic stability intraoperation, relieving postoperation pain, nausea and vomiting, alleviating postoperative restlessness, etc. Trend Acupuncture has a good therapeutic effect in clinical practice, with few physiological interferences and higher safety. Therefore, it can be well used in perioperation of laparoscopic surgery. Key words: Laparoscopic surgery; Acupuncture; Perioperation
