The invention discloses a toughened PP self-enhanced composite material and a preparation method thereof. PP resin is enhanced by utilizing a PP fiber, wherein the material comprises 20-75 mass percent of the PP fiber and 25-80 mass percent of the PP resin, and the sum of mass percent of the two raw materials is 100 percent. The PP fiber refers to a long fiber or a woven fabric prepared by using high-melting-point PP, the PP resin refers to modified PP resin prepared by adding a beta nucleating agent, the toughness of the PP resin is effectively improved, and the melting temperature of the PP resin is reduced, so that the melting point of the PP modified resin is 20-30 DEG C lower than that of the PP fiber, and when the PP fiber self-enhanced composite material is prepared at a certain temperature, the PP resin is melted, PP and the PP fiber are well adhered together, however, the PP fiber is not melted, and high orientation of the PP fiber is guaranteed. Therefore, the effect is enhanced.
