PENGARUH MOTIVASI KERJA DAN PRESTASI KERJA TERHADAP PROMOSI JABATAN PADA PT. BANK SUMUT

The importance of motivating employees to improve employee performance so that they can be promoted on the part of the company. This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation on promotion, to determine the effect of job performance on promotion, and to determine the effect of work motivation and work performance simultaneously on promotion at PT. Bank SUMUT Head Office, namely 78 employees. The data collection method used a questionnaire (questionnaire) which was distributed to employees who were the samples of this study. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis and the coefficient of determination. The results of research with multiple linear regression analysis obtained the equation Y = 2.156 + 0.621 X1 + 0.241 X2. Simultaneous test results obtained Fcount with a significant 53.030 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. The coefficient of determination (R-Square) is 0.586, in this case it can be interpreted that work motivation and job performance are able to explain the elaboration promotion of 58.6% while the remaining 41.4% can be explained by other variables not examined in this study. The conclusion of this study is that there is a partial effect of work motivation on promotion, there is no partial effect of work performance on promotion. However, simultaneously there is an influence of work motivation and work performance on promotion. It is recommended that companies promote their employees objectively according to their level of achievement and also seniority (the length of time the employee has worked at the company).
