Chickenpox – acute infection caused by human herpes virus Varicella zoster virus (VZV), which belogs to Herpes viridae family [1]. VZV infection can be particularly severe in pregnant women and people with imunosuppresion. The insidence of varicella infection during pregnancy is estimated to be 2 to 3 per 10,000 pregnancies. The chance of pregnancy complications is the highest after 16 weeks of gestation, especially in the third trimester. The most common complications in pregnancy are pneumonia, congenital varicella, newborn varicella. A clinical case of neonatal varicella zoster virus infection and literature review are presented in this articles.
