Generalized impedance model based on health impacts.

In this paper, health impact which is caused by traffic pollutant is considered based on traditional BPR model, and environmental traffic impedance model of open road (such as urban freeway) is constructed. A method of calculating pollutant concentration on the bottom of widen road is firstly given. Health effect caused by atmosphere pollutant is quantitatively analyzed by using Concentration-Response relationship between pollutant concentration and health effect, and then monetized by willing payment method. Generalized impedance model considering health impacts is constructed with the concern of traditional BPR model. An example is given to explain the BPR model. A generalized impedance model based on CO is constructed and its characteristic is analyzed. Health impacts monetization is the most important part in the generalized impedance model which is based on health impacts. Impedance calculated by BPR model is a fixed value when the traffic volume is fixed, but this generalized impedance varies if vehicle type proportion varies, because different vehicle types have different emission factors.
