High-temperature raman spectroscopy of molten alkali pyrosilicates

The structures of 60M2O • 40SiO2 melts, where M = Li or Na (hereinafter, Li60 and Na60), have been compared on the basis of Raman spectroscopy data. Major structural fragments of the melts have been identified, and specific features of interaction between structural units depending on the nature of the modifying cation have been revealed.
