Analysis of the structure of porous systems 1. Critical coordination number in monodispersed powder materials and ratio of single and interphase contacts in two-phase mixtures

1997
Analysis of the parameters of a dispersed powder system at the threshold concentration indicated that the ratio between the number of single-phase and interphase contacts in a two-phase mixture is determined not only by the volume concentration of one of the components, but also by the porosity of the system as a whole. Comparison of the ratio of particles with single-phase and interphase contacts calculated from the component concentrations on the one hand, and from the percolation equation on the other, indicated satisfactory agreement. The critical coordination numbers for two- and three-dimensional systems were in good agreement, as well as the equations that define the ratio between single-phase and interphase contacts in two-phase monodispersed systems as a function of the volume concentration of one of the components.
