Simulation of waste transport monitoring based on garbage load capacity using load cell

2017
Organic waste or commonly referred to as wet waste is a type of waste that needs to be lifted to the landfills because of the process of decomposition. Ongoing waste trucking is only on schedule from garbage collection. There is no monitoring of waste transportation to the fully filled trash bins. Therefore, an alternative solution is needed by simulating the transportation of waste based on the load capacity of the trash bins so that the waste transportation operation is expected to be more effective. The waste transport simulation conducted in this research uses load cell sensor as a sensor to measure the maximum waste load capacity from the trash bins. The utilization of Arduino Uno as a microcontroller and genetic algorithm as a supporter of this system to get to the route of transporting waste to a minimum time. The test results show that this system is able to simulate the waste transport by calculating the load of the trash bins stably and produce high accuracy with the average weight difference between 0.005 to 0.03 kg of the actual load weight. While the algorithm used is able to get the route of waste transportation to obtain minimum time.
