Rapid micro-GC analysis of permanent gases

Fast, accurate, and low-cost analysis, of permanent gases has become important in industry, with the increased demand for on-site and on-line results. The ability to have real-time answers without being tied to the laboratory and its schedule saves valuable time, money, and resources. A high-speed gas analyser is available that fulfils these needs (the M200 gas analyzer) or the portable version P200 portable gas analyzer (Microsensor Technology Inc., Fremont, California). This paper will discuss the M200/P200 micro gas chromatograph (GC) instrument configuration and its advantages for permanent gas analysis. The paper will then focus on the following typical applications for permanent gas analysis. He and H 2 leak detection, O 2 and N 2 detection, transformer oil gases, ethylene oxide, fermentation, fruit maturation, landfill gases, furnace and coke gases, freon 113, and noble gases.
