The Development of Motion Capture System Based on Kinect Sensor and Bluetooth-Gloves ☆

Abstract The article describes a motion capture system based on the Kinect sensor and an original hand motion reading device – Bluetooth Gloves. It is used for operator's hand tracking including finger bending. A gyroscope assisted by an accelerometer measures the slope angles in relation to the axis of the sensor system while rotary potentiometers define the finger bending angles. The resulting trajectory data is translated into AR-600E robot movements. Data transmission is performed by means of Bluetooth interface. Software that reads telemetry from the Kinect Sensor and Bluetooth Gloves is developed using C++ and LabVIEW programming languages. Graphic User Interface and System architecture are given below.
