A process for the preparation of silylated monocarboxylic acids by reacting CC monocarboxylic acids with halosilanes of the general formula (I) SiHalR, wherein Hal is a halogen atom selected from the group fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine, R is independently hydrogen, CC-alkyl or Aryl is, and x is an integer from 0 to 3, with the formation of hydrogen halide in the presence of an auxiliary base in which the auxiliary base with the hydrogen halide forms a salt which is immiscible with the desired product or the solution of the desired product in a suitable solvent Forms phases and is separated.
