2-(3-substituted phenylhydrazino)-2-thiazoline and 2-(3-substituted phenylazo)-2-thiazoline, their preparation and their use for combating ectoparasite
1992
PURPOSE: To use specified thiazolines that are moistly new to combat ectoparasites. CONSTITUTION: Thiazolines of formula I (wherein Y is -NH-NH- or -N=N-; R 1 is Cl or halogen-substd. alkyl; and R 2 is a residue selected from among H, halogen, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, halogenoalkoxy, alkyylthio, halogenoalkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, halogenoalkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl or halogenoalkylsulfonyl) are used to combat ectoparasites. The compds. of the formula I are new compds. with the proviso that R 1 and R 2 are not simultaneously Cl and with the proviso that, if R 1 is CF 3 , R 2 is not Cl in the p-position or CF 3 in the m-position to CF 3 . The compds. of the formula I are obtd., e.g. by allowing phenylhydrazines of formula II to react with thiazolines of formula III in the presence of a strong acid. The compds. of the formula I include 2-[(3-chlorophenyl)hydrazino]-2- thiazoline. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
