A Wideband Dual-Polarized Dipole Antenna for 5G New Frequency Band Base Station

2019
Aiming at the application of 5G base station, this paper presents a broadband miniaturized dual-polarization antenna in the form of printed dipole. The main structure of the antenna consists of two pairs of annular dipoles, and the impedance bandwidth and isolation can be effectively improved by loading impedance matching cylinder on the dipole terminal and cutting grooves on the dipole arm. Meanwhile, the miniaturization of the antenna can be effectively realized. The antenna adopts the form of coupling feed. Simulation results shows that the antenna achieves a wide impedance bandwidth of 46.8% with Sll<-10 dB (2.68 to 4.32 GHz) and a high isolation of greater than 27dB within the bandwidth. Also, a stable radiation pattern with the maximum half-power beamwidth of 69.6° at horizontal plane and a stable gain of 9.3 dBi are obtained simultaneously over the working frequency band.
