Finite Element Analysis of Anti-Punching for Mats and Discussion on the Calculation Method

In the problem of anti-punching design of mat,how to identify the critical cone and perimeter is a key question.The selection and identifination of the critical cone and perimeter are directly related to calculate the punching resistance of a mat.However,the Chinese codes about punching question is very limitted and the actual punching situation between columns(walls) and mats is not taken into account.On the anti-punching of mats,the selection of critical cone and perimeter are too simple and the codes only provide simple geometry such as rectangular column load resistance punching calculation,not for the actual project encountered all kinds of questions with complete solutions.In order to explore,analyze the above-mentioned problems,the punching behavior of mats was simulated for a real project examaple by using finite element software.Through comparing the results of finite element analysis and formula calculations from JGJ 94—2008,the shape and position of punching lines were determined at last and some calculation suggestions were proposed.
