Endovascular recanalization in progressive period of deteriorating ischemic stroke of posterior circulation: an initial experience of 2 cases

Objective To explore the effect and safety of endovascular recanalization in patients with deteriorating ischemic stroke of posterior circulation in the progressive period.Methods Two patients with deteriorating ischemic stroke of posterior circulation were performed endovascular recanalization opreation on the 2th and 5th day of admission; NIHSS scores before surgery and 20 days after opretion were observed.Results NIHSS scores in patient 1 were descended from 17 before the operation to 5 after 20 days of operation; NIHSS scores in patient 2 were descended from 14 before the operation to 2 after 20 days of operation; no postoperative complications were noted.Conclusion Edovascular recanalization is one of elective methods in treating patients with deteriorating ischemic stroke of posterior circulation in the progressive period.
