The research of high-resolution seismic data processing for coal fields

For the sake of safety and high efficiency of comprehensive mechanized mining, a detailed geological information of coal--field including small fault (several meters), fold and cave pillars is needed before mine planning, which demands that seismic prospecting of coalfield have higher resolution. Data processing is one of very important aspects in improving seismic resolution. The authors took two steps in date processing: (1) Modules beneficial to extend the frequency band and suppress the noise are selected in data processing. (2) Measures such as strengthening the prestack processing, series statics and frequency separation. etc. are applied to the seismic date so that the resolution has been obviously improved. The result shows that it is possible, by applying the above methods, to improve seismic vertical resolution (5m) in the area where the original efficient bandwidth of seismic data is not less than 200H{sub z}.
