[Swollen lip and cobblestone-like stomatitis in a young person--due to orofacial granulomatosis].

2010
Abstract Chronic granulomatous inflammation of the mouth and the lip region is an increasing problem. Almost every second person with the disease will develop chronic bowel inflammation, thus exclusion of bowel inflammation by fecal testing is recommended. Topical tacrolimus or orally administered glucocorticoids, antibiotics and immunosuppressive drugs have been used in the treatment. The symptoms are typically variable, and visible changes to same extent persist for years. Diet has been suspected as the triggering factor, and some patients have benefited from benzoate and cinnamon-free diet.
