Synthesis of β-Hydroxyimines and Trimerization of Isocyanates Catalysized by β-Hydroxyimidolithium Complexes

Three of β-hydroxyimine compounds were synthesized from the reaction of imine deprotonized by the lithium diisopropylamide with benzophenone,and following with hydrolysis.The corresponding imine compounds were obtained by treatment of acetophenone and arylamine in toluene.The trimerization of isocyanates catalysized by β-hydroxyimine lithium complexes were also investigated.It was found that the catalyst 1 have a good yield when the catalyst is 0.1mol% for 2 h at room temperature.The produced yield is up to 96% when aryl isocyanates with electron-withdrawing substituents on the aromatic ring.
