The bureau of meteorology's water resources assessment suite

The Bureau has previously published two national water information products which assess recent water resource availability and use across Australia. These are the biennial Australian Water Resources Assessment (AWRA) report and the Summary report of the annual National Water Account (NWA). The AWRA report and the NWA Summary have now been combined into a single annual product, Water in Australia. The new product integrates a variety of information to elaborate on water resource conditions in Australia. It focuses on interpretation of available information from across the country. It is complemented by two additional products which provide more regular and more detailed information. This paper describes the three new products, their purpose, how they support each other and the nature of the material available from them. The intended audience for Water in Australia is Commonwealth agencies, organisations with a national planning and policy mandate, water professionals, policy makers and planners in State agencies and regional organisations, educators (university and high school), researchers and the engaged public.
