Magnetic moments of amorphous Tb-Co and Dy-Co alloys

The results of a study of low-temperature field dependences of the magnetization were used to calculate the magnetic moments and to estimate the half-vertex angles ψ of the cones formed by the magnetic moments of the rare-earth ions in amorphous Dy x Co 100−x and Tb x Co 100−x alloys. The composition dependences ψ(x) had maxima at concentrations where the magnetic moments of the rare-earth and cobalt subsystems practically compensated one another.
