Preliminary research of acoustic radiation force impulse technique in the assessment of liver fibrosis

Objective To investigate the value of acoustic radiation force impulse technique in the prediction of chronic liver fibrosis.Methods Fifty healthy controls,50 patients with simple non-alcoholic fatty liver and 18 patients with consecutive chronic hepatitis confirmed by liver biopsy were examined with ARFI technique.The parameter of shear-wave velocity in different groups were compared.Results The parameter of shear wave velocity in three groups was significantly different statistically(P0.001).Conclusion ARFI is valuable in the non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis.
