Selection of Process Parameters for Laser Assisted Machining of Al2O3 Ceramics

2013
Case Based Reasoning (CBR) is a novel paradigm that uses previous cases to solve new, unseen and different problems. However, redundant features may not only dramatically increase the case memory, but also make the case retrieval more time-consuming. In order to enhance the processing accuracy, the surface quality and the processing efficiency of laser assisted machining (LAM) of Al2O3 ceramics, a processing parameters selection was proposed. By test analysis, optimizing process parameters scope can be obtained. Such as laser power is 260 ~ 290 w, cutting depth of 0.32 ~ 0.5 mm, workpiece speed of 186 ~ 398 r/min, feed rate for 0.12 ~ 0.15 mm/r.
