Well spacing optimization of hydrothermal doublet system

It is of vital importance to study the influence of well spacing on geothermal system. A three-dimensional hydrothermal coupling model of doublet system is established with a geothermal system in Shandong province as background. Under different well spacing, temperature field distribution values are calculated by finite element software, low-temperature area developments are analysed and values of heat extraction ratio are compared. The results indicate that with a smaller well spacing, low-temperature area will develop faster, thermal breakthrough will happen earlier, and service life will be shorter. Moreover, the larger the well spacing is, the faster the growth rate of the heat extraction ratio is, and the higher final heat extraction ratio is. However, the final heat extraction ratio value become more and more close while the well spacing increase.
