Study on the Deactivation Mechanism of Ethanol Carbonylation over Ni-Pb/C Catalyst

1998
eactivation mechanism of ethanol carbonylation over Ni-Pb/C catalyst was studied by EDS、SEM、XRD.The results show that the catalyst retains a high activity at 250℃ after reaction for 160 h, and no coke formation has been found. But at 300℃, the activity lowers and the yield is only 30%. Under high temperatures Pb is enriched on the surface of catalyst with the number of Ni active center decreased, and which caused the deactivation of catalyst is deactivated. When the reaction temperature is returned to 250℃, the activity of reaction is gradually recovered. This deactivation is reversible.
