Guest Editorial Special Issue on Vacuum Electronic Devices

I AM honored to again be serving on the guest editorial staff for our fourth Special Issue on vacuum electronic devices (VEDs) in IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices (the previous three were published in January 2001, May 2005, and May 2009). This time my job was made considerably easier by four other guest editors whose expertise spans our field: Dr. Monica Blank, Dr. Simon Cooke, Dr. Devereux Palmer (rejoining the guest editorial staff after supporting the very first VED Special Issue in 2001), and Prof. Claudio Paoloni. Their helpful advice, broad knowledge, and decisive support were invaluable, and we owe them a great debt of gratitude.
