Preferred Orientation of SnO2 Thin Films Grown from Tri-n-Butyltin Acetate by Spray Pyrolysis Technique

1994
SnO2 thin films have been grown from tri-n-butyltin acetate (TBTA) on a heated glass substrate by a pneumatic spraying system. XRD profiles of the grown films showed that the growth of (110), (200) or (211) plane was enhanced depending on the film growth rate and substrate temperature. Comparison of the results obtained for tetra-n-butyltin (IV) and di-n-butyltin (IV) diacetate suggested that the preferred orientation of SnO2 films was probably related to the molecular structures, i.e., the number of butyl and acetoxy groups of the source compounds.
