Avaliação de escarificadores e resposta da cultura do milho

The performance of six chisel plows was evaluated on a distrophic Dark Red Latosol, under a heavy stuble of rye (Secale cereale L.). Volume of raised soil level, distribution of aggregates and remaining soil cover after chisel plowing were evaluated. The response of maize to chisel plowing was evaluated in relation to yield components and grain yield (kg ha -1 ). Treatments T 4 (Jumbo model) e T 5 (chisel plow Jan) generated higher volume of soil disturbance and soil elevation. No significant differences in aggregate distribution and raised soil level were observed among chisel plows tested, but in relation to the percentage of soil cover, treatment T 5 showed the higher percentage, while T 2 (winged chisel) the lower percentage. No significant differences in grain yield were observed among treatments.
