Synthesis of l,8-diaryl-2,7-di(hexmethyleneiminomethyl)-1,8-octanediones and their anaesthetic properties

Generalizing the results of biological tests, it should be noted that the compounds VIII-XIV have antimorphinic action, with the exception of II; in contrast with the analogous monostructural 8-amino ketones, which show high activity in infiltration anaesthesia [2], they do not have a local anaesthetic effect. Diamino diketones XIII-XIV are slightly toxic compounds, having a local irritant effect in high concentrations.
