Polarization microscopy study on polymer dispersed cholesteric liquid crystal droplets

Polymer dispersed cholesteric liquid crystal samples with large droplets were made,and the droplets had strange"gem"texture by polarizing microscope.The new vertical helix and parallel helix configuration in the polymer disperse cholesteric liquid crystal droplets were proposed.Considering the bipolar and radiation configuration of polymer disperse nematic liquid crystal,the"gem"texture may correspond with degeneracy coexistence of multi domain texture of vertical helix and parallel helix configuration.This experiment had basic research significance for liquid crystal optics and reference value to design the new liquid crystal device.
