"Bricolage, opportunity identification and corporate entrepreneurship: A subjectivist view"
2015
Bricolage and entrepreneurial activities are known to be closely related, but few studies have explored the specific mechanism behind the linkage. Taking a subjectivist theory of entrepreneurship, we investigate how opportunity identification mediates bricolage effects on corporate entrepreneurship and how learning orientation moderates the link between bricolage and opportunity identification. Data collected from 248 firms indicate that bricolage is indirectly related to corporate entrepreneurship through opportunity identification, and that higher learning orientation allows bricolage to have a stronger relationship with opportunity identification. The article concludes with discussions of contributions, implications, and future directions.
