Status of outpatient allocation of doctors who not serving in registered hospital in tertiary general hospital

Objectives:To understand the status of doctors who not serving in registered hospital allocated in outpatient department and to explore how to strengthen outpatient service practiced by those doctors quality monitoring.Methods:Large tertiary hospitals in Beijing and Shanghai were selected.Questionnaire investigation,phone visit and site investigation were used.Results:80 A level tertiary hospitals mainly in Beijing and Shanghai received the survey.22.67% of investigated hospitals do not permit doctors registered in other hospital provide outpatient service.17.33% of the hospitals do not permit interns provide outpatient service.5.33% of hospitals permit doctors registered in other hospital but have both certified qualification and doctor qualification provide outpatient service.If teaching doctor exits,77.33% of hospitals permit hospitals permit doctors registered in other hospital,42.67% undergraduate interns are permitted to provide outpatient service and 81.33% of graduated interns are permitted to provide outpatient service.Conclusions:The monitoring of intern doctors providing outpatient service is relatively loose.Relative regulation and law should be developed.
