Qualitative research of psychological experience of children malignant lymphoma patients' parents

Objective To understand the real psychological reception of children malignant lymphoma patients' parents during the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation process, to provide clinical nursing staff illustration of how to give psychological supports to patients' parents. Methods To interview 6 family members of childrent malignant lymphoma patients, organize and anylze the abtained data and propose the theme. The resultshows the parents of children malignant lymphoma patients have experienced enormous psychological and economic stress, the behaving processes are the initial shock and confusion, refusion at the pre-diagnose period, andthen reluctanz acceptance, finally to have pressimistic attitude to the future. The supporting system is main]y from other family members and other parents of children malignant lymphoma patients. Conclusion Parents of children malignant lymphoma patients need deep humanistic care and emotional support; nursing staff should adopt personalized nursing method, help and guide the patients and their parents to improve living standards and finally go thrugh the hardship.
