Application of a Signal Processor in PWM Inverter Control

The paper is concerned with the application of a signal processor in the control of inverters modulated with a subharmonic technique. The distinct advantages offered by such an application over analog circuitry or a conventional microcomputer are illustrated. Description of how the PWM inverter control can be implemented on a signal processor is given. A single-phase PWM inverter controller is developed as an example and its hardware and software structures are presented. A complete set of experimental results is also included.
