Abstract A method is described for the spectrophotometric determination of manganese in foodstuffs by means of its complex with 1-(2-quinolylazo)-2,4,5-trihydroxybenzene, formed in alkaline medium. The molar absorptivity of the complex is 4.6 × 10 4 l·mole −1 ·cm −1 .
