CONTRIBUTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE WATER QUALITY OF JIAOZHOU BAY MADE BY QINGDAO TUANDAO WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Most of the waste water collected in Tuandao catchment aera is domestic waste water and a few light industry waste water.The waste water has become the main pollutant to the adjacent sea areas.From 1998 to 2007,altogether more than 142 million tons of waste water has been treated in Tuandao WWTP and more than 280 thousand tons of pollutants such as CODcr,BOD5,SS,NH4-N,and T-P has been removed from the waste water before discharing to Jiaozhou Bay.Tuandao WWTP adopted A/A/O process for removal of BOD5 as well as nitrogen and phosphorus.During the operation,some optimization methods are used to improve the treatment effect,to ensure the effluent water quality is better than the discharge standards of GB 18918-2002,and to improve the water quality of Jiaozhou Bay.
