Performance Evaluation of Interleaved Converter using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Technique for voltage regulation and power factor

Power factor remains as an important factor for AC mains supply fed two stages AC / DC / DC converters. Many topologies are developed for reducing conduction loss, switch Stress and also for enhancing the efficiency. DC link voltage regulation also affects the system performance. In this paper, the performance of this converter with coupled inductors is evaluated for power factor correction with dc link voltage regulation with PWM technique by using PWM controller and WES. The hardware prototype is developed and experimental results are compared with simulation results. The Windows Enabling System performs better in terms of Voltage regulation, Power factor, and THD.
